Relationship Therapist

You’re exhausted spending so much energy trying to fit other people’s expectations, and how can you not be?!

It doesn’t have to be this way forever! You absolutely can find the space to breathe and be yourself while repairing and strengthening your relationships.

How do I know? Because I’ve been there myself.

Just before I turned 30, my world fell apart…

I was going through a bad breakup, felt completely consumed taking care of (and also enabling) my alcoholic mother, almost got fired from my job because I was angry and yelling at everyone, and found myself sitting in a hospital bed alone because I had no one to visit me.

By partnering with a great therapist, going to Al-anon, and admitting I needed to change my behaviors, I turned my life around!

What therapy looks like with me:

  1. Skills based therapy: As a born and raised New Yorker and very concrete thinker, you won’t get fluff from me! You won’t hear me say existential things like “just sit with it” without me translating that into something easier to grasp onto. Because at the end of the day, you need tools to help you with your issues, not a philosophical discussion.

  2. Empathy & Compassion: I believe EVERYONE has the right to go to therapy and feel seen, heard, and have their feelings validated. Regardless of your political views, how you identify, where you come from, or any other detail about you, you deserve to feel accepted and respected and for who you are. The focus is on you and your needs, not mine.

  3. Individualized Treatment: As an individual, couple, or family in therapy, we may need to try different therapy modalities/strategies to find what works best, and that’s ok! I don’t subscribe to a “one size fits all” approach because everyone is so different. In our sessions together, we’ll try different approaches to see what fits and what doesn’t.

It’s Time to Start Putting Yourself First

Why Fuzzy Socks?

I chose the name Fuzzy Socks Therapy, because when I think about self-care, I usually think about putting on a pair of fuzzy socks. Even in the summer!
